DIY Face Mask - Shrink Your Pores

Updated: 5 days ago

Our easy, 2-ingredient (yes i said two ingredient) mask to leave your skin smooth and shrink those pores.

Once again I'm gonna thank my Mediterranean heritage - for my huge pores. Or as my daughter points out..."the holes on my face". Nice right?

Anyways...I HAVE to share this with you all because I am blown away with its results. Like legit - I've never seen my skin so smooth as it is after I use this mask.

In full disclosure, you have to keep using this about 3 times per week to keep your pores small (which I suck at. I'm not always one for consistency when it comes to my own beauty routine), but even if you only use it once, you'll be happy with the results!

Why we know you'll love it:

So what are the two ingredients?

Apple Cider Vinegar & Baking Soda. That's it, easy peasy right?! I use baking soda in almost all of my facial skincare recipes. It works so much magic to deep clean your pores (not to mention your kitchen sink, carpet, your teeth... I mean this list is endless).

And the Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) ? Well that is used as a natural antibacterial to rid your pores of the yucky stuff AND excess oil and helps to balance out the pH of your skin.

ACV also contains alpha-hydroxy acids which are amazing at improving skin cell turnover, thus helping to shrink or tighten your pores.

Again with the Mediterranean skin, my face gets super oily throughout the day. Actually it gets oily within that first half hour after washing my skin (awesome) but when I use this mask....nothing. I can see a noticeable decline in the oil I'm wiping away.

How to make your mask

So typically you want to use a 1:1 ratio of these two ingredients but I like my mask a little thicker and I love the gentle exfoliating I get from the baking soda so I tend to mix more of a 1:2 ratio for myself.

No pressure to mess this up....make it how you want to! That's what I love about this mask! Half the time just pour them into a bowl willy nilly until I get the consistency I like. Why not make life easy?!

You should probably make this fresh every time you use it but have no fear, it only takes one minute to make. Below are more descriptive instructions for ya:

Apple Cider Vinegar & Baking Soda Face Mask Recipe:

  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp. baking soda

Add the baking soda first into a small bowl, then the ACV. Mix into a paste, apply to damp skin, and let dry (maybe 15-20 mins).

Once the 15 minutes have passed (or you're sick of it flaking off everywhere), just rinse with cold water, pat dry, and voila!

Noticeably smoother skin and tightened pores.

Let me know how this goes once you try it?! We're dying to hear your input!
