Mother's Day Spa Gift Ideas

Don't get me wrong, I love my mama. But THIS mama here is a little broke this year! So I'm dishin' out some homemade goodies again to my favorite ladies and I'm sharing these cute ideas with you!

This year's DIY gifts are centered around some at-home spa time. A no-brainer in my opinion. I've even created some FREE PRINTABLE labels and gift tags!

I consider myself blessed to have my mom, a very special aunt who lives with her and has helped raise me, a fun-loving mother-in-law, two crazy sisters in my life. With that said....gifting "nice" Mother's Day gifts for that many chicks can get expensive for a girl on a budget.

So since my kids have come along, I played the "look what a cute picture the kids made for you" game. And as a mom myeslf I LOVE those gifts, and will likely have a post on those later, but I feel like maybe that game has started to run it's course as a fill-in for me giving my own gifts to them (I mean, it's been 9 years now so....whoops, sorry mom).

Either way, ya get the point. So if you're in the same boat as me or maybe you just like making your own gifts, then I've got you covered! So what are we making this year?

1. Sugar Scrubs

These cost about $1 to make at the cheapest and probably $10 max. But it's the thought and generosity here. We created a cheat sheet with five of the best sugar scrub recipes if you need ideas, but otherwise any homemade gift will lift those spirits!

2. Eucalyptus & Mint Body Lotion

Ah, I love this scent, and I bet your mama would too. It's relaxing and refreshing. Not to mention it only takes about 5 minutes to whip up. We have a free and easy recipe for you to use that only requires aloe and coconut oil as the main ingredients. You can buy these at Walmart ya'll. And even better, make whatever scent you want! You can switch it up with cupcake flavoring oil from any baking isle or some essential oils you already have. They even sell Lavender and usually Tea Tree oil at department stores too. Check it ou!

3. Sugar Scrub Bars

One extra step from those easy sugar scrub recipes we gave you in step #1. You need some melt and pour soap and mold. These take a bit longer but are so worth it! If you are short on time, we've got you covered in The Market! Check 'em out!

4. Mani / pedi bombs

I just recenlty thought of using my bath bombs in my foot bath. I mean...duh! Why not? It leaves your feet so soft and moisturized and does the exact same for your hands. Don't know how to make a bath bomb? No worries. You can find a million, literally, million recipes on Pinterest. And to make it easier, you don't need molds. You can use an ice cube tray since these are just getting dunked into a small bowl! Try 'em. I garauntee you will use them all the time now! And of course, we've got you covered again. Check out The Market for some fun donut or cupcake bath bombs you can always gift away!

5. Homemade Face Masks

Who doesn't need some pampering? There are all kinds of face masks for all kinds of skin types. Again, Pinterest is the way to go to check out some fun ideas! Just make sure that the mask you choose has some longevity. You don't want to whip up a homemade face mask with egg and yogurt and gift it to your mama a week later. Gross. And unsafe! I would suggest some honey & cinnamon, honey & oatmeal, or coconut oil & baking soda, they last a tiny bit longer.

There are so many ideas for a homemade spa ladies. We've just got you started with five.

Let us know what you came up with! We'd love to hear!

We'd love to hear from you more often & build a community of like-minded amazing sisters!  Check us out further for some good ol' fun on this little thing called Instagram!
