Playdough Soap for Kids
Updated: Mar 26
Simple DIY tutorial any mom can do - Safe, natural, and fun for the kids while keeping our little gremlins clean and happy!
Just when I think my kids may be past their play-doh playing days (so sad!) they sneak back up and suprise me. Which I gotta say, I love!
One, they are still my little babies, and two, play-doh is like a cheap stress ball. I love an excuse to play with it.
So while my kids may not play with this stuff as much as they used to, my daughter has segued into this new fad of slime. (And she's got me hooked on those ASMR videos on YouTube. They are hypontic so if you don't know what I'm talking about, don't judge ladies, shit's relaxing).
Okay, but this is not why we're here. We are here because you guys wanna learn how to make this stuff right? Of course you are. Okay so here we go:

1/4C Liquid Castille Soap
2 drops food coloring
~5 drops essential oil (optional)
1. Mix cornstarch with castille soap and water until clump-free
*If your mixture still seems runny, try adding ~1/2C more of cornstarch and mix again
2. Add essential oils if desired
**If you want more than one color, just seperate out mixture here into seperate containers before moving on to Step 3.
3. Add food coloring and mix well
4. Knead with hands (this part may get messy)
5. Allow to sit for a few minutes and harden slightly, knead again
6. Package in air-tight container or ziploc bag
Bonus: The cornstarch will leave your hands silky smooth, you won't believe it!
Bonus #2: This stuff is just like fluffy slime! Your kids will love just playing with it. Even if they don't use it as soap, cuz ya know...when do they ever use stuff the way it was meant to be used? LOL, gotta love'em!
